There are very few companies that actually have the capital to continually purchase notes. This is a plain and simple fact. However, there are companies who do have access to those kinds of funds that are usually needed in order to succeed. These companies work with various banks and investors, investing money in joint venture types of arrangements. It's these companies, the ones that have access to that kind of capital guarantee, that are much more successful.
Paper is a risky investment, especially for the inexperienced. Being inexperienced and taking other peoples money to invest can be deadly. Now Bernie Madoff might have been experienced or inexperienced or just a plain crook. There are various legal processes that license someone to invest someones money. It's a BIG responsibility. We have heard countless horror stories about unhappy investors. With all this said, for the right person, investing others capital may be a logical step in their career.
Face it. Most people in the industry will not go through ALL of the hassles of becoming licensed to be an investor. For an aggressive, well educated, determined individual, it can be a way to help "guarantee" success (the key word here is GUARANTEE?).
This is not in anyway saying that by having access to someones capital, you can "guarantee" success successfully. There are many different aspects that you have to think about, such as working hard, expanding your knowledge about the investment industry, having that burn in your gut to succeed, and doing whatever it takes to make it happen (logistics not ethics.) These are key characteristics that will add to a more successful experience. Two out of the five percent make it in the investment world. Having access to capital would make them more successful. Looking at the industry closely many more of those that have access to capital are more likely to succeed.
If your serious about success it's recommended that you check into what it would take to invest other peoples money. You must also check the responsibilities that go with it. In order to access someones capital it takes an additional commitment that is not for everyone. Remember using other peoples capital is not for the faint of heart due to the responsibility and commitment to yourself as well as your investor.
